To really savor a World Series trip with your buds – you really have to escape to the beach and have a little fun in the sun. The heat was sweltering on the fields and the kiddos couldn’t wait to get their feet dirty with beach sand, and get out in the water. After our […]
Come Experience Fort Morgan and Gulf Shores for yourself!
Hey guys!! Welcome back 🙂 I hope that the beginning of the school year has been treating everyone really well! Hopefully there’s minimal homework and you’re loving all of your classes. Ever since school started, my friends and I have been talking about all the really awesome places we got to travel to over the summer. I found myself talking about my trip to Gulf Shores this summer quite often, so I figured I would tell my blog readers about it too!
Don’t get me wrong, I would take up any offer to go to any beach at any time. However, there was just something about Gulf Shores that has made it my absolute favorite beach. There was perfectly white sand that didn’t burn your feet when you walked across it, really clear water so you could see exactly what you were swimming with, and the weather was perfect! I…

Wonderful post! Thank you!
A family vacation at the beach is a lot of fun. But planning for one can be a bit overwhelming when you have a child – or children – on the autism spectrum.
If you’ve never taken your child before, you may be worried about how he might react – especially if he has sensory issues.
A trip to the beach can be an amazing sensory activity for autistic children. It’s the only place my severely autistic son puts his feet all the way down. The sand, water, and breeze somehow allows him to relax, and take in his environment.
I actually live at the beach, and take my four year old twins out at least once a week. One of them was diagnosed with nonverbal autism last year, and my other twin is currently undiagnosed.
So I figured I’d share a little bit of wisdom (insert laugh here) to…

Ranae and I fell in love early in life. We started talking on the phone as Freshmen in High School and finally met face to face three years later and then engaged the next month after that. Yeah I know!! We got married Labor Day weekend after Graduation and immediately started creating our family as Ranae became pregnant one month after we married. So much for being Newlyweds! Our family continued to grow as we have three daughters and now two grand kids.
Growing up and living in Southern Indiana was great, but we always yearned to be closer to the Beach and took every trip we could to enjoy the sand and water with our little family. Every couple of years we would talk about packing up and moving to the Beach life only to change our minds when it became real. Well finally in October of 2017 we took the PLUNGE and moved to Foley, Alabama 14 miles from the Gulf Shore beaches.
As our 30th anniversary began to approach (Labor Day 2018) Ranae started planting the seed to fulfill another dream of purchasing a place near the beach to one day use as our “retirement/nursing home”. You know I haven’t been married for 30 years without learning a lesson or two along the way. And lesson Number 1 is………
HAPPY WIFE—-HAPPY LIFE!!! So she convinced me (it really didn’t take much effort) and here we are. The 30th anniversary is supposed to be Pearls, but we made it beach and sand by purchasing this dream condo and now sharing it with you. We hope you feel the love and attention to detail we put into making this retreat a place to relax, recharge, and make lifelong memories with.
So enjoy and here’s to 30 more Ranae– I love you more!
WE CLOSE ON THE BEACHFRONT CONDO IN LATE SEPTEMBER AND THEN WILL BE UPDATING IT DURING OCTOBER. WE HOPE TO HAVE EVERYTHING READY TO RENT FOR YOUR VACATION BY THE FIRST OF NOVEMBER .
